Who am I?

There comes a time in life that it becomes necessary to take a step back and examine who we are becoming, and if needed, change the road we are taking to get there.

Moving, Marathoning, and Roommates

Well, back at school again. Yesterday my mom and I came up and she helped me unload everything and then slept on my floor. It was good, but a rather long day for both of us. I have an unbelievable amount of stuff I must say. My roommates are pretty nice. Two are from China and the other is from Japan. It should be an interesting semester with them. I have my room finally put together, although I am pretty sure I am going to go and buy a small book shelf when I buy food. I haven't decided for sure yet, I may wait a while until I have my text books completely paid for and have got my first pay check.

I'm doing a U-crew move in thing tomorrow where I have to give people directions for 3 hours, so that should be interesting...but they give me free food for it, and since I have not yet gone shopping that will be nice. I'm pretty excited to go back to my ward, although I'm really hoping that the time has moved to 11 instead of the 9 o'clock, just so I actually get a day to sleep in, since Saturday will be my running day, and I'll have to go early until it cools down enough. I'm pretty excited though, Only 11 weeks until the half marathon, so I am definitely going to need to step up my game to make sure I'm ready for it, but I'm doing it regardless so hopefully I get a little more in gear on the running front. Which I'm going running tonight after I eat and it cools down a little so that will be fun. I will miss getting to run with Jack though. He's a good baby.

Anyway I guess that's all for now. Time to get busy and get ahead on my classes so that this semester goes good!!

Moving, Motivation, and Joy

So things are still moving unbelievably fast. I am moving back to Salt Lake again in about a week from now. I can't believe how soon that is. Guess it's almost time to start packing again. While I'm not entirely happy to be moving again, it will be kinda nice to be back on my own and be busy again. I've had a pretty lazy summer. Hopefully I will be able to be really focused on school and have a better year than last year.
I finally got back into running, that is super happy. I am still on track to run the half in November. Even more happy. so things are going good there, and my dad agreed finally to take Jack running with him after I move, so that is good as well. Hope Jack is in good enough shape for that and doesn't die!! Anyway, that's basically all that's going on in my life right now, but things are really good.

Rain, Running, and Jack

Well, this is the most I have posted in a while, but I'm just feeling fantastic today and so I feel the need to leave behind a memorial to the amazingness of today. It has been raining the last few days, and can I just say, I love it!! I love rain so much. It's just like a complete cleansing of everything! It makes everything better for some reason. And I'm finally getting back on track with my running, and it is fantastic! I have decided that running while listening to books on tape is amazing, and makes things go by a whole lot faster, and makes it a lot easier to lose yourself in the run. Jack has been amazing to run with too, he's behaved extremely well actually. Today, we went running in a completely downpour, before we had even gone half a mile we were both completely drenched, but Jack did surprisingly well, i thought he wouldn't want to run in the rain, but he seemed happy that he got to go run, even if it was pouring. It was a fantastic run, very refreshing. I suppose that's really all I have to say right now, this was sort of jumbled, but I'm just so happy. I'm sure going to miss Jack when I have to move again though. I love that dog. He seriously cracks me up, and makes me so happy all the time. The other day he thought I told him to jump in the truck, so he did, and when I went out to shut the door to one of the cars he was still sitting in there, whining his head off as he was getting pounded with rain. I love his face!! Then yesterday Sarah and I rode the horses around the block, which was great except I was super scared that Sarah was going to get bucked off at one point, and when we got home we hosed off the horses and dogs because it was so hot, and Jack was getting in Sarah's way as she tried to get Maggie over to the hose, so I told her just to spray him in the face and he would leave, yeah didn't work, silly baby. Anyway...'til later.

Pharmacy, Paid, and Roommates

Well things are flying by, I can't believe that July is just about over. I can't believe how fast this summer has gone by. I haven't done near as good as I wanted to with a lot of things, namely running and working out and losing weight, but I am getting better. I have started to do a lot better with how i eat, and I will continue to do so, especially when I am buying my own food again.

I have figured out a few things, my schedule for the next two years for school so that hopefully I will be able to fit everything in before I graduate, but it meant that I had to add another class this semester. Sad, but 16 credits won't kill me. I've got all of my textbooks for this semester and have started doing a little bit of studying so hopefully I'm going to be able to stay on top of my classes this year and keep my grades up because I desperately need to. both for my scholarship, and for pharmacy school, which speaking of pharmacy school, I found out that there is another school in Utah!! YAY!! I'm excited about that. The University of Southern Nevada has a campus in South Jordan, so if I don't get into the U's school then hopefully I can get into that one instead. It will cost me $50,000 more to go there, but it's worth it to be able to stay in Utah. I think I will apply to the U, USN, and the Idaho State University, and then if I don't get into any of those then I will take a year off and apply again the next year. I think I will at least get into one of them though, I'd be surprised if I didn't, but I guess we will have to see.

So I am going to be getting paid in lab again this next semester, and hopefully spring semester as well... I will be making about $120 a week, which will be enough to pay for everything I need to and save a little bit as well, so that is really exciting for me. I was worried that I wasn't going to have a job, so I did take out a little bit more in student loans, but I'm hoping to not have to use any of it, which I probably won't have to use much, I'm super grateful for that fact. Seriously, paying tithing works.

That's basically all for now I suppose, I'm moving in a little over 3 weeks!! crazy! I will have 2 Chinese and 1 Japanese roommates so that should be really interesting for me and very different as well. I'll probably learn a lot.

Hiking, Holidays, and Goals

Well if I don't blog every week my sister starts to go crazy telling me that I need to update, although I don't have a ton to say....Here goes.

Well on the third of july, so last saturday, my family (minus the older two) went and hiked this little short technical canyon called Hidden Canyon, which it was a lot of fun. I haven't done anything like that in quite awhile so I was pretty nervous, but thanks to the level headedness of my little brother I was just fine. It lead to a few realizations though. #1. I am really bad at that kind of stuff. I have no balance, no natural grace or agility, I'm not entirely fearless like my sister, I usually end up taking awhile and getting pretty dinged up just because I'm not that great at it, but that fact really doesn't matter, because I try. I go and do all the hikes, regardless of how bad at it I am, and I think that says alot. #2. I want to marry somebody who is willing to do all that kind of stuff as well. I may not always enjoy hiking, but I would hate to never be able to go do it with my husband. #3. I definitely want my kids to learn how to do all of that stuff. I want them to learn from an early age to be completely fearless when it comes to that kind of stuff. I have met a few people in the last little while who were completely helpless, and I don't want my kids to ever end up being like that.

Anyway, so 4th of July sunday, yeah we didn't really celebrate. One of the disadvantages to not having any little kids around, holidays kinda lose their appeal. Oh well. It wasn't a bad day, we got hot dogs from maverik, I got to watch my dad get shocked by the electric fence. That was awesome! and hilarious! and just hung out as a family, which I wouldn't have it any other way.

And I guess last but not least, fitness updates....I haven't done super great. I did a little better but not really. I just can't seem to make myself go running very much lately, but I will get back into it this week. It makes me so mad because I want to be that girl. The one that you always see running. The one that you can't believe would ever run for that long at a time. The one that loves it. I'm pretty happy with who I am for the most part, but that is one aspect of me that I want to change. So it's another week of reapplying myself and doing better than I have been.

I get to go to Salt Lake next week just for like a day to get some paperwork filled out for a scholarship, and I'm going to go turn in my resume to a butt-load of pharmacies, and hopefully I can get into one for the fall and get certified. I'm really excited to go. I think I'm getting ready to move back up there. This summer has been good, but I'm ready to go back to having my own thing going on. My own house, and all that jazz. There are actually only 5 weeks until I go back. I can't believe that!! This summer has gone by super fast. Which is both good and bad. I'm looking forward to a lot of things this next year, but also dreading them at the same time. Hopefully they will go good.

Painting, Parents, and Summer Time

Well, so I had this big long blog post already written out, but then for some reason the computer wigged and didn't save it. So I suppose that we shall try again to write everything I had on here before.

So we are up to week 7 on my running schedule, but sadly I have kinda let it slide some in the past two weeks. Which I am so mad at myself. This was suppose to be my summer, but I haven't really even done much at all. I haven't ran near as much as I would have like, or gone to the gym very often, heck, I have even eaten a whole lot worse than I did during school. I don't really eat bad, but at the same time, I just don't make as smart of choices. Fore example, I haven't eaten any wheat bread since I've been home, I just eat a whole ton of white bread. Just little things like that. I have also eaten out way more than I would have liked to or then I should have. I definitely need to work on that. Luckily I still have almost two months of the summer left that I can start to do better again. I am going to get back on my running and run as much of five miles as I can this weekend, I am going to start going to the gym everyday again, which means I'll have to start going to bed earlier, and I am going to start eating healthier again. I know I will feel a whole lot better about myself if I can just do this. I know that I am worth it, and that I need to treat myself better, more like I am worth, and so I am going to get better from now on.

So we have been painting my room this summer, and we finally got it finished last night. I love it! It's green and brown, and is definitely very green, but green is one of my favorite colors. I am super excited for when I can move all my furniture back though. I am basically living in a pigsty right now and can never find anything, which is extremely frustrating. I learned though, that I really suck at painting. I pretty much get paint everywhere. All over everything including myself. My dad however, he is amazing at it!! He never has to mask anything. I hope that I am lucky enough to find a guy who knows how to do half as many things as my dad does. Seriously, he knows how to do almost everything. The other day, our vacuum shot sparks and stopped working, and like ten minutes later, it was as good as new. Crazy man!

So I went over to Josh's house last week and visited with his mom. That was....interesting to say the least. I mostly just looked and the pictures that Josh has sent and read his letters. It was really neat to be able to see the pictures and see where he has been living for the last year. Indonesia really is a gorgeous place is some areas. And Josh is doing good too. Only 10 months before he comes home. I can't believe that. It is going by so crazy fast. It will be exciting to see him again though. I absolutely love the way their house was decorated though. They had like ten clocks in the front room, which I thought was really cool because I love clocks, although I can't stand that tick tock sound.

The financial aid people finally have pulled their heads out of their butts and finally got my financial aid mostly figured out. That was extremely frustrating of an ordeal. I am just praying that I get some sort of aid, but I think I will only get loans, which sucks. I am so tired of being broke all the time. I realized that I pretty much haven't had any extra money since I started college. Now don't get me wrong, I am extremely grateful that I have been provided for and have always had enough money to get by, but it sucks to never have any to spend pretty much ever. I'm hoping that once I get back into salt lake I can find a job in a pharmacy somewhere and get pharm. tech. certified. I really want the experience so I can both see if it's what I want to do, and hopefully get into the U's pharmacy school. I really want to be able to stay in the state and as close to home as possible through grad school. But I guess we'll have to see what works out. If I can keep my grades where they are, or possibly raise my GPA just a little, and then do really good on the pcat, I should be okay. Although, pharmacy experience would really help, so hopefully something will work out for me when I get back up there.

Which I am pretty ready to go back actually. I am loving being home and everything, and I love spending time with my family, but this town if full of nostalgia, and it's making it hard to be around. Nothing is the same as it was, some things are still really good, and I'm really enjoying my singles ward, which actually isn't the one I am supposed to go to, but that is a different story for a different time, but I am ready to get back into school and get back to working hard at some things, and getting closer to being done with school. I'm glad I had the summer off, but I'm ready to go back. And then I won't miss certain people as much, because everything I see won't remind me of them.

Anyway, I guess that is all for now...

Sista, Speed, and Everything Else Randon

I can't believe how fast this summer is going!! We are already to week 4. That is absolutely insane. I still don't have a job, which totally sucks, but I'm getting by, thanks to my family letting me work for them....sad I know. Well, I don't really have a whole lot to update on other than that. My dad is running a marathon next saturday, but he is sick right now, which totally sucks, but hopefully he will be good by then. My own running is going okay, I haven't been as dedicated as I should be, but overall it really hasn't been too bad. I'm loving running with Jack. He loves it too...he's a nice boy. He just loves me so much that it's impossible not to love him back. I think that is one of the things I like most about animals. They love you no matter what. It's just nice to feel that acceptance no matter what. So this week end was youth conference so my family was gone. It was interesting to sleep in my big old house all by myself, but I only did one night because the other Sarah Beth stayed over too. I have had so much fun with her this summer, I'm glad that I get to spend time with her, we were in st. george shopping with my grandma today and Sarah bought a new laptop, which was fun. She really needed one...and really I guess that is the extent of my life right now....that is all.
